Windows 10: Monitor says "No signal detected"

So I pressed the windows icon on my keyboard with the "P" button and it showed some display thing. I accidentally pressed something along the lines of " show PC screen only". Now, the monitor goes off and when I switch it on, it says "No signal detected". How do I fix this? Please help.

Nvidia Gforce GTX 970 card all drivers up to date
DVI-D to VGA cord is new and plugged in tightly at both ends

I recently cleaned my PC because it was too dusty. Cleaned all the parts thoroughly. Now when I try connect it back to my monitor, it says no signal detected on the monitor. I have tried many things such as removing parts and using other. However, when
I used another motherboard, everything worked fine. Could it be my motherboard? On the other hand, there is going power through to all the hardware connected, so it works. Could it be the contacts on the motherboard?

• How is the setup done? Do you mean to say that the monitor streamed is not being detected?
  

Standard graphic cards that do not have the special DMS port will not be able to send out two separate display signals to two different
monitors. Seems like the monitor is attached to the onboard GPU port instead of NVidia, if the display is not being detected despite of the GPU supporting dual monitors. You may plug the
monitor into the NVidia GPU port and check if it’s being detected.

If the issue persists, it could be due to faulty drivers. I suggest you to install the latest drivers from
NVidia.
