Snip & Sketch or Snipping tool Zooms in my desktop when attempting to take a screenshot

I have a 1080p monitor that I set to 1440x900 on purpose so a specific game runs nearly full screen. For this game I use the snipping tool a lot, however, 2 months ago when I made the leap from windows 7 to windows 10, I now have a new issue: when attempting to screenshot something on my screen, the desktop is zoomed in and the quality becomes very poor. To get around this I move the game to my other, 1680x1050 Monitor and take the snip there, however this is becoming very, very annoying. This problem never existed on windows 7. And after 2-3 months of trying to find a solution online I'm out of options.

To illustrate the issue: here are the products when my Main monitor is in 1920x1080 resolution:

    and again in 1440x900 resolution:

You can clearly see in the second image that it is much more blurry. In a game this becomes much more clear.
The main reason this becomes a problem is that the zooming in cuts off the entire bottom portion of my screen. The top to bottom shown above was the full extent the snipping tool allowed me to select in both cases.

Having my monitor set to 1440x900 does make some things like calculator and windows more blurry yes, but it doesn't make my game blurrier. Experiencing full-screen gameplay with full capability of accessing the desktop and other windows is what I like.
All my monitors are at 100% scaling, and changing this setting does nothing. This was the #1 returned answer on google to resolve "this" issue, however this is different.

I've managed to get it to work properly a few times before accidentally, but have no idea how to repeat them.

Finnaly, I have a Nvidia Graphics card so I actually had to change some settings to get this to work, something I didn't have to do on my old windows 7 set up. I'm attaching this for reference as I'm not sure if it is affecting this issue.

If anyone has some suggestions on this issue it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    :)

    Snip & Sketch

It's the Snipping Tool that's being phased out, not Snip & Sketch. FWIW, I just used the latter tool and was able to paste the snip into a Word (Office 365) document. There was a point in the past when for reasons unknown, opening Word would clear the
clipboard. If you're using an older version, you might want to try opening the document first, before taking a screenshot.

If you prefer to use Snipping Tool, all you have to do (as I suggested earlier) is open the Start Menu and type snip.

  3. Opening Screenshots in Snipping Tool/Snip & Sketch

    Hi,

I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 2-Year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

The behavior you see is expected-Now taking screenshots would automatically copy them to the clipboard and would not open a new Window like happened with snipping tool.

A notification, should generate however to open the editor if needed. See the screenshot.

A better way would be to open Snip and Sketch app using app and select New Snip.

  4. Snip & Sketch or Snipping tool Zooms in my desktop when attempting to take a screenshot

    Snip and Sketch Awkward

Use Windows+shift+s to launch Snip and Sketch. Can snip a screenshot.

Now the problem is this: after snipping the screen shot, it does not automatically appear in the Snip and Sketch app. So I open Snip and Sketch and there's nothing on it.

So I have choose 'new' and snip the screen yet again.

I recall using this once and taking a screenshot and voila! Snip and Sketch appeared with the screen shot duly in the app's workspace, ready for annotations and saving etc. This facility has disappeared. I have re-set it according to instructions, and even
reinstalled it - yet the problem persists.

    Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks
