Windows 10: Unresponsive Settings App, Unresponsive Search Bar, and Wrong Icon Shortcuts Appearances

Hello, today I ran into multiple problems on my PC. My settings page is being unresponsive. Cannot access non of the sub-settings. Can't even update Windows. Another thing is when I go and click the search bar on the bottom left corner to search something, nothing happens. It appears as if it were frozen. Also, half of the shortcut icons mainly games on the desktop appear in a white file format. One last thing is Google Chrome keeps crashing every 5 minutes and it is not saving the browsing history. Please help and thank you.

Window 10 Search Window Icon unresponsive

My Window 10 Search Window Icon on the task bar is unresponsive despite clicking on it .

i have tried to

1) Restart the Com

2) Run an SFC with no error noted , Run an elevated Prompt powershell

3) Restore to an earlier recovery date

4) End task for Search under Task bar

5) Re-index

with no resolution.

I am stopping short of doing a reset of windows as i'm using the computer for important business function.

Kindly advise on most appropriate step .

Taskbar and settings unresponsive

Recently, my Dell computer's taskbar has not been working. When I click on the Window's logo, type to search bar, or any of the tools in the right corner, they are unresponsive. I also am not able to open my settings. I have tried to open them through right
clicking on my desktop > display settings > then a message that says "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default App Settings page"
appears. I have tried restarting my computer multiple times.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

 

No outlook.com app shortcut icon in chrome

Uninstalling chrome make's the chrome Outlook.com app https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/hotmail checker i use, disappear from chrome as a shortcut next to the star button for bookmarks and the settings button where i have adblock and google chromecast icon

How do i get it back, i use windows 8.1 64 bit, extremly annoying that i can't get this icon,button back in chrome, please help me *Smile
