  1. Unable to update NVidia graphics driver.

I'm unable to properly update my graphics Driver. It is a NVidia RTX 2080. Within about 20% of the install the computer reboots. This is not normal. Normally the display will go black then come back and the installation will finish, but not reboot the computer in the process.

I have tried uninstalling the graphic drivers and it does the same exact thing. Reboots within about 20% of the process.

Currently installed Driver version is 445.87.

I reached out to NVidia and they first suggested updating windows to the May update 2004. I Ran the Windows Update assistant and it will not update on my computer. Tells me it's not ready. Potential software conflicts or whatever, we're working on a version for you yada yada yada. The computer is running version 1909.

After that I contacted NVidia again, they asked for the specs. Said the card is running fine and the issue is with Microsoft.

The card still works. The display works. I can run games just fine. The problem is the NVidia control panel is gone. I can't get it back because the drivers won't fully install and the Microsoft Store NVidia Control panel app won't work because it's says incompatible driver issue. So I uninstalled it.

I Tried both the DCH and Standard versions of the NVidia drivers. Obviously, neither of which install properly.

I checked the the NVidia Corporation in both program files and x86 and the nvcpui file is missing. So it's not hidden. It's just gone.

I have also tried updating the graphics driver through the device manager. It does the same thing. It tries to update to the latest version. Reboots. Computer comes back and the graphics card is not recognized by the Geforce Experience or my EVGA Precision X1. So I go back to Nvidia. Download and install version 445.87. 20% into the process the computer reboots. After reboot the card is recognized by Geforce Experience and EVGA Precision X1.

    Please help.

    :)

  2. Nvidia Driver update

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I request you to try the following steps:

Uninstall and Reinstall the Graphics Card Drivers.

Step 1: Uninstall the Graphics Card
    Drivers

    • Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.

    • Click on “Device Manager” from that list.

    • Search for the Graphics Card
from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers
      from the computer.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and then restart the computer if prompted.
After the restart, please go ahead with the next steps to install the latest drivers and check if that resolves the issue.

Update Driver Software from the Manufacturer’s website:

Step 2: Go to the Computer or Graphics Card
manufacturer’s website and search for the latest Windows 10 drivers available for the
Graphics Card model and then install it by following the instructions given in the website.

I hope this helps you. If you have any further query in future, feel free to contact us. We will be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

    Nvidia Graphics Driver problem

If your graphics can be updated to version 416.94 then it should have updated even if you were running the latest build of version 1803. It suggests there is something wrong here.

Check your Nvidia graphics model number on the Nvidia website and if their latest software version is showing 416.94 is available for your card then ask this question there.

Nvidia driver doesn't detect the graphic hardware

Did you notice that on Device Manager the Display adapter doesn't appear ?

And I tried installing the latest driver from Nvidia site and it didn't detect any compatible graphic hardware
