Program is located under Program Files x86 - updates stopped applying in March 2020

There have been questions about a program called Watchtower Library originally downloaded from a DVD or from jw.org directly. It has several decades of publications in it & is NOT the JW Library app found on Microsoft Store. The program Watchtower Library has been automatically updating or manually updating on computers around the world for years. As of Windows 10, for me in March 2020, no more will the updates apply automatically nor manually. When it is time to apply the update it keeps saying check to see if there is another version of Watchtower Library running. There is not. Saying this program and the JW Library app are the same is like saying Microsoft & Windows mean the same. I’m sure there is a Windows 10 work around for updating it, but I’ve tried the usual things from re installs to changes in the compatibility mode, but it won’t apply the update. I bought my last Windows computer, a Samsung Notebook 9, 2 in 1, for the fact I could use this program on it. Between Windows shutting out favored programs & the constant security issues, Mac Air has become pure logic to buy. We were never able to use this useful program on Mac & have it update. But have to say since Windows has many security issues, and I can’t use my favorite any longer I now own a Mac Air. Does anyone have the work around for updating the Watchtower Library. On the computers which have it installed, you find it located under Program Files x86?

    :)

Program Files (x86) Question, Please ?

    Hello,

Really a dumb question, but will blame it on my Sr. Citizen status now.

Looked in File Explorer, etc., but just cannot find it.

How do I see and get to a listing like "program Files (x86)" ?
Such as what easily appears in W7

Where is it located, exactly ( the "program files" complete list with the x86 suffix) ?

I can find the program files, but not with the x86

    Much thanks, appreciate the help,
    B.

Intel iCLS client - is it Program Files or Program Files (x86)?

Whilst working on problem with my Win10 OS, I found a bit of treacle during my examination. The Intel iCLS Client shows system environment variables for both the C:\Program Files directory and also C:\Program Files (x86). I don't see how that could be correct.

Sure enough, there are files in both locations.
That and several other Intel component appear in dual locations.

If appropriate to clean up, what steps would I use? Seems to me that uninstalling has a lot of potential to break something severely, and I suspect these won't uninstall cleanly.

I'll be chasing around looking for install files while waiting for your thoughts on the thread. Cheers.
