  1. unlink the Administrator Windows 10 account from a Microsoft account

I do *NOT* want to delete my Administrator account

I do *NOT* want to delete any user account

I do *NOT* want to disable my Administrator account

I do *NOT* want to change the password for my Administrator account

Now, let me explain the problem. From my Google searches, this is a common problem and seems that no solution was provided.

    I am using Windows 10 build 19041.329

I activated and logged in with my Administrator account.

While authenticated with my Administration account, I used Microsoft Maps.

On Microsoft Maps I logged in with my Microsoft account

Suddenly, the entire session layout began to change.

After checking a little bit, I noticed that my Administrator account now linked to my hotmail account.

First try was to load Maps again and Log Out/Sign Out from my account on it not from the Windows sessions, of course.

I want to cease the link between my Administrator account and my Microsoft account.

NO, THERE IS NO "Used a local account to Sign In" on the window.

So, who have any idea how I can end this link between the Administrator account and my Microsoft account?

    :)

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown unlink the Administrator Windows 10 account from a Microsoft account :(

  3. unlink the Administrator account from a microsoft account

I used the "net user /Administrator:active" command to activate the hidden administrator account. Then, foolishly, I connected this account to a Microsoft account (a hotmail account). Now, I want to unlink the Administrator account from the Microsoft account.
I have searched the net and found some solutions.

    1. do a clean install of Windows 10. This will wipe out all the programs I have installed. This is too much.

    2. delete the account. This is the default Administrator account. I don't know what would happen if it is deleted. If I can get it back after deletion, I may try this one, but can I?

    3. go to the Microsoft account and delete the device. I logged in my Microsoft account and found no device was connected to this account.

    Any other suggestions?

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account

Hi Daryl, welcome to the Ten Forums.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

    Tutorials:
Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address.
