    Chrome opening random pages automatically, All files openable only with media player


    Hello, all my files, exe,iso etc, are all only openable with windows media player. Also google chrome is opening random pages automatically after a certain period.I tried reseting apps default but no luck. Tried running windows defender for some kind of viruses as well but nothing is happening. I can’t even install my windows because it’s in iso but when i try to browse it through the app to load it into my usb, the app shows no iso files.

    Windows Media Player in Open with for .flv files

    As a test, see if having the "Always use this app to open .flv files" box is checked when you select "Windows Media Player" in Open with to see if it's listed in Open with afterwards like below.

    Media player automatically opens on startup

    Hi,

    When you say media player, are you referring to Windows Media Player?

    If you are referring to Windows Media player, I would suggest you to follow the steps to avoid Windows Media Player automatically opening at startup:

    Press Windows Key + R.

    In Run window, type the following command:

    shell:startup and hit Enter.

    The All Users Windows 10 startup folder is located at: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp

    Now, delete the shortcut or the icon by name wmplayer.

    Check with the issue.
