Windows 10: audio and troubleshooter not working

Audio service is not running and when I try to Troubleshoot I get error code: 0xC0000409


I've tried updating but all updates are stuck on 'Currently pending download' even during active hours.


I tried running service.msc but get the message 'side by side configuration is incorrect'.


Can anyone help?

Can not record audio.
