    Hello Everyone,

I have in an environment two exact dell servers and same software but one of them is presenting very random shutdowns.

I'm not able to find out the problem through the logs so I got the last minidupm file when it failed.

As I wrote the shutdowns are random, It can be for 7 to 15 days without shutdown and then it shuts down and it can be like 4 in a row in few days.

    I'm using windows Server 2019. Version 1809 Build 17763.737

    minidump is here

  2. WHEA-Logger | Event ID 17 Issue

Hello. I have a problem with my computer that randomly hangs or freezes from time to time.

I checked event_viewer and noticed that I get a flood of whea-logger errors with the following message.

A corrected hardware error has occurred.
    Component: PCI Express Root Port

Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express)

BusBugcheck followed by WHEA-Logger: Help to find out a Hardware Issue or software Issue. :Device:Function: 0x0:0x1C:0x6

Vendor IDBugcheck followed by WHEA-Logger: Help to find out a Hardware Issue or software Issue. :Device ID: 0x8086:0xA296

    Class Code: 0x30400

I have already searched but can't find solution to my problem.

Based from the vendor id, it is intel device but when I search the device id, I can't find it. Even looking at pci vendor and device lists on the internet there is nothing for device id 0xA296. Can somebody help me please.

I've been on this issue for a week now.

This is my pc specs btw.

    Motherboard: Biostar TB250

    CPU: Intel Celeron G3900

    RAM: 4GB DDR4 2400Mhz

    Storage: 120GB SSD

    OS: Windows 10 Pro

    WHEA-Logger | Event ID 17 Issue

    Hello.

I had the same problem on my Biostar TB250 pro motherboard.

Previously in the BIOS settings I changed the PCIe Speed to GEN1 for all of the PCI Express slots.

In my case this was the cause of the flood of whea-logger errors.

I changed them to GEN2 speed and the WHEA log errors disappeared.

    Help with WHEA Logger

    Hi IT Help (IT),

Based on the error you are getting, it seems like it is related to a missing driver or hardware issue. I'd like to know more about your concern. Kindly tell us when did you start encountering the issue. Have you made any changes to your computer prior to
the issue? What actions are you trying to perform that triggers the error in the Event viewer?

Meanwhile, I suggest that you run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. To do this, refer to the steps below:

    1. On the Start menu, type Troubleshoot and then hit
      Enter.
    2. Under Find and fix other problems, click Hardware and Devices, and then select
      Run the troubleshooter.

Also, you check any driver or hardware problem in Device Manager. To open
    Device Manager
    , press Windows key + X
on your keyboard. Select Device Manager. Identify which driver is causing the issue.

Updating the drivers can help. For instructions, refer to this article.

If you continue to have this issue even after performing the above steps, please reply to this thread. The system will notify me so I can get back to you and provide you with more answers.
