Windows 10: Windows 10 search bar crashing after clicked

I can only type in 2 letters before it closes, making the search bar unusable.

This only happens on a certain local profile. If I create a new user then it works, but I’m hoping there’s an easier solution.

I have tried:

-Updating Windows

-Using the index troubleshooter

-Restarting “WSearch” service

-Running that commonly recommended powershell command that starts with “Get -AppXPackage”

-Rebuilding index

-Ending “SearchUI” task (technically couldn’t try this as it wasn’t listed under tasks)

Any help is appreciated!

Try this method:

• Turn off Updates from more than one place.
