Automatically change audio device output when plug in headphone jack

I use a laptop connected to a external monitor with built-in speakers and I usually set the monitor as the audio output but whenever I'm on a call or want to use my headphones plugging them on the headphone jack port I have to mannually change the audio output back to my laptop. It would be a very useful trick, specially during quarentine work-from-home situation.

Is there a way to automate it i.e. set the audio output to be my laptop when headphones are plugged in and the monitor when the headphones are not connected?

I guess a task from Task Scheduler would do it but couldn't find it anywhere.

    Thanks!

    :)

Headphone jack not recognized as output device

Sometime recently, whenever I plug headphones into the jack, the computer tells me "You just plugged a device into the audio jack." But the sound keeps coming out of the laptop speakers. Headphones don't show up under output devices and the Realtek software
only gives me two choices of devices to choose from, Mic or Line in. It seems as if somewhere, Windows 10 or Realtek forgot the jack was input/output. Have uninstalled and reinstalled device software. Anybody have any ideas?

    Lenovo Ideapad 510

Realtek HD Audio driver (automatically installed).

    Windows 10 version 1809 build 17763.348 (last updated 3/1/19)

  3. How to change device when plugged into the audio jack?

Whenever I plugged in my earphones, the notification would pop saying "You just plugged a device into the audio jack" With this, a window would pop up saying what kind of device I had plugged in and would give out the options: headphones, earphones, headphones with microphone, etc.

I clicked on headphones with microphone and ticked the box "don't show this message again". But now, whenever I Skype with someone, they can hear the videos and music I'm listening too even with my earphones plugged in.

How do I change the device from headset with microphone to just earphones? How can I make this pop up window open up again whenever I plug something into the audio jack? How can I change the settings?

Here's a picture similar to what kind of pop up window I'm talking about:

Audio: No sound when headphones are plugged in to jack

I would also like to add that the Realtek HD audio manager recognizes that something has been plugged into the headphone jack but does not output any sound in spite of that.
