Windows 10: How can I create W10 1909 installation media to put on a USB?

So i've been having issues with 2004 and I'd like to downgrade to 1909 to see if it fixes my issues.

Unfortunately I directly installed 2004, so I can't downgrade.

I'm not seeing the 1909 download anywhere in creation tool, it only shows 2004. Can't seem to find it on the Microsoft website either..

Where can I download 1909? Also, how can I be sure Windows won't automatically update to 2004 once I install 1909?

Create media for automated unattended install of Windows 10  

The hard disk will be wiped empty if WillWipeDisk value is set to true (tutorial step 3.11).

About signature issue, I have not a a clue what you mean. If you follow this tutorial step by step, when you have finished capturing your customized install.wim, everything needed to create a bootable USB drive is in folder ISO_Files (or whatever folder you selected in step 2.2).

I use then my own PowerShell script to create bootable USB from ISO_Files folder as shown in this tutorial: PowerShell Scripting - Create USB Install Media for Windows 10 - Windows 10 Tutorials

If you want to make Windows Setup completely automatic, "hands-free", then yes, a generic key is required. If not given, setup will stop asking the key.

Generic keys are not activation keys, they are only used to skip product key prompt in Windows Setup, and in case of install media containing multiple editions, to select edition. Activation will then be based on existing digital license, or must be done using a product or volume licensing key.

Do you know how to choose the Legacy BIOS or UEFI boot mode?

Depending how the Windows install media is booted (Legacy BIOS or UEFI) Windows creates either MBR or GPT partition table on the SSD/HDD.

- The non-UEFI option will boot the Windows install media in the Legacy BIOS mode and Windows Setup will create the MBR partition table automatically.
- The UEFI option will boot the Windows install media in the UEFI mode and Windows Setup will create the GPT partition table automatically.

Create installation media using small partition on HDD?

If you watch the video from post #5 to create a Macrium Rescue disk. It would be the same procedure to create the Windows Installation disk.

1. Download Windows Installation ISO: Windows 10 and put on desktop for easy access.
2. Create a partition on an internal/external drive around 5GB, format as FAT32.
   NOTE: Set the partition Active if the disk used is an MBR disk. No need not to do anything if is a GPT disk .
3. Use: WinRar/WinZip/7-Zip to extract the ISO file to the root of the partition created in step 2.
4. Set the BIOS as first boot priority then boot.
