  1. Did a Windows 10 update break Bluetooth Functionality? Bluetooth no longer on Device...

I feel like I'm going crazy. I have a Dell XPS 8700 now running Windows 10 v2004 and I've had my Bluetooth headset connected to it plenty of times. A few weeks back I went to connect it and couldn't get it connected. I've tried numerous things and have had no luck which include the following:

    - "Bluetooth & other devices" no longer has a toggle switch to turn Bluetooth on/off

    - Clicking "Add Bluetooth or other device" then selecting "Bluetooth" states "Couldn't connect"

    - Tried removing the Bluetooth headset device and repairing but it will not pair.

    - Device Manager does NOT show Bluetooth. Clicking Show Hidden Devices does NOT show Bluetooth. Also ran "Scan for hardware changes"

    - Device Manager -> Universal Serial Bus controllers -> Tried to update drivers on "IntelR USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 Microsoft" and "USB Root Hub USB 3.0" with no luck. Also tried to go to Properties -> Power Management and disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

    - Services.msc - "Bluetooth Support Service" is Running and Automatic Trigger Start. I have stopped and restarted.

    - Troubleshoot - Additional troubleshooters - Bluetooth - Run the troubleshoot - States "Device does not have Bluetooth. Bluetooth is not available on this device. Please try using an external adapter to add Bluetooth capability to this computer."

    - Saw recommendations to do a Troubleshoot on "Hardware and Devices" but it doesn't exist on the Additional Troubleshooters. Instead opened the Command Prompt as administrator and used the following command:

    msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

    Restarted afterward.

    - Went to the manufacturer page and tried to install the Bluetooth adapter linked with my Service Tag on the Dell Support page. When attempting to install the driver it said that it couldn't install a LOWER version than what was already installed. Removed the driver, installed the driver from the Dell Support page, rebooting, and did not work.

    - Checked for Windows 10 updates and everything is up to date.

    - Tried booting into Safe Mode and back to normal.

I feel like I may have forgotten to mention something but any options not listed above would be greatly appreciated. I do not feel like the problem is the Bluetooth itself as there are way to many other people have the same problem within the last 1-2 months since a Windows update rolled out. Any assistance or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

    Bluetooth in windows 10

So I bought a new Bluetooth headphones the skull candy uproar since my old one isn't working. It came with only the headset and usb charging cable. The problem is I can't seem to pair it to my pc. I have windows 10 by the way. There is no Bluetooth on off button in windows settings. I went to device manager but there us no icon for Bluetooth. I did everything I knew but none of it worked.I can post pictures if anyone needs. An alternative might be a Bluetooth dongle but I m not sure I'd it would work plus I paid $50 so don't wanna spend more

I looked up on Internet and many people seem to have issues with windows 10 and Bluetooth. I thought of asking here knowing my UK friends are smart.

Anyone have any idea of how to get Bluetooth to work on my pc.

PS don't curse windows 10. I already know it's a mess and not a very good os.

    Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision

    Bluetooth in windows 10

If the op is using the pc listed in the system spec then the gigabyte z97x gaming 5 mobo does not have built in BlueTooth.

It also seems like the headphones did not come with a dongle so inless they buy one not much else can be done.
