  1. Disabling "Which device did you plug in?" notification

I have been looking for a solution for a while, but I can't find one that works for me. I have been trying to disable this notification:

This pops up whenever I plug in headphones or earbuds, and neither will start producing sound until I click 'OK'.

The RealTek console has absolutely no controls for this notification or any jack detection check boxes, There is no RealTek audio device in Control Panel, Waves MaxxAudio does not have any controls for this, and I can't find anything about it in the sound device manager. The bios has no settings pertaining to audio. Additionally, because I have to push 'OK' every time I plug something in, I can't simply stop the notification from popping up at all. I need to make my PC remember my choice, default to the device I just plugged in over the laptop speakers, and never ask again.

This problem is occurring on a fairly new Acer Nitro 5 laptop. The only modification I have made is installing an extra HDD. The problem existed even before I made that modification, though, so I don't think that has anything to do with it. The port in question is the only audio jack on the laptop.

    :)

which device did you plug in Pop Up doesn't appear anymore windows 10

    Hello Juancholo,

Usually, the issues with device notification that is not showing after plugging in may be due to corrupted system files or your driver needs to be updated. For better assistance, we'd like to ask the following:

    • Did you make any changes to your computer before experiencing this issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Have you checked if the installed drivers on your computer are all updated?

Meanwhile, we recommend updating the drivers installed on your computer. To do so, follow the steps in the article about
Update drivers in Windows 10 on this link.

We are looking forward to your reply.

Disabling "Which device did you plug in?" notification

How to disable "which device did you plug in?"

The steps Andre recommended do not work for me. There is no "properties" when I right click the Task Bar.

Option 1 suggested by Vijay also does not work me. "Realtek HD Audio Manager" does not appear when I search for it.

I can go through Option 3, but not sure any of these are applicable. Clicking on the "speakers - Realtek Audio" wants me to plug a device plugged into the back end of the computer. That's not what I'm having issues with.

I don't know how to complete Option 4

Option 4: Update driver from manufacturer's website

Go to the website of the audio driver's manufacturer or computer's manufacturer

See if some driver is released for your model and OS

Where do I go exactly exactly? How do I find the correct driver?
