I have been experiencing progressively slower startup time on my Windows 10 laptop.

I have tried all the fixes proposed on the web. I reinstalled W10 but without data loss.

When it reached 5 minutes from power button to Acer logo I decided to do a new W10 install with deletion of all data on the C: drive.

The start time remains in the 5 minute region. Only the Windows programs are loaded.

During the long startup I can hear soft repetitive whirring noises. It sounds like a HDD searching but I have 2 SSDs.

    What next?

    :)

  2. Progressively Slower Internet

For months I have been trying to understand why my internet connection becomes progressively slower as I use my Dell XPS8700 PC. I seem to have read every "solution" on the internet, and tried most of them, but nothing makes any long-term difference. My
one solid clue is that a restart "cures" the problem (ie normal internet speeds return) but then the same progressive slowing starts all over again. A normal shut down and startup of the PC does not "cure" the problem in the same (temporary) way.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome!

In Progress I think my laptop has been hacked

I agree with Tairiku. It's a full screen browser window hijack/malware
If you really did reinstall Windows, did you delete all partitions first? Where did you get your install media from?
I would suggest a clean install, deleting all partitions and installing to a completely unallocated drive.

Windows 10 Reset after Windows 10 anniversary update - Taking Long time (too long, more hours, no progress)

Laptop Description : Dell Inspiron 15 (RAM 16 GB, Intel core I7)

Post Windows 10 anniversary update, I experienced the following issues in my computer:

    • Slow processing
    • desktop icons won't appear after a refresh
    • shutdown/reset icon won't work
    • have to use alt + F4 to shutdown, still won't shut down and everyday had to do a hard shutdown
    • startup time increased

Therefore, I decided to do a reset (reset programs and apps, but keeps your personal file intact)

During reset of Windows 10, I experienced the following:

    • Reset operation is TAKING ALMOST 3 HOURS AND STILL IN PROGRESS.
    • I have a dell laptop, and I can't even see how much progress in happening.

This problem was reported several times by other users, and MICROSOFT is not taking any action to this problem.

would request Microsoft to provide a rationale to this issue.
