  1. White box appears right above OneDrive icon in taskbar after left clicking on it.

    Hi all,

I've recently had a problem with my Elitebook 840, and haven't been able to find a solution online. Several days ago, I clicked on my OneDrive icon in the bottom right of the taskbar, and a white box appeared above it, which I couldn't get rid of. I restarted my laptop and it disappeared, until I tried to click on OneDrive again, when it reappeared.

I've found lots of discussions online about white 'unmovable' boxes, but never specifically after trying to open OneDrive on the taskbar. I've tried right-clicking on the icon, but nothing happens. When I double click on the icon it brings up file explorer, but the white box remains.

When on the OneDrive folder on file explorer, I managed to get onto settings and click on 'Manage back up', but it just produced another white box this time in the middle of the screen.

Does anyone have any advice as to what the problem might be, or how to solve it?

    Thanks,

    DiabolicPrawn51

System Icons in Taskbar Bouncing Left and Right?

    Hi Rob002,

There might be an application running on and off in the system's background that's why taskbar icons are rearranging from time to time. May we know the result after you perform a clean boot? Also may we ask for a screenshot of your taskbar.

In the meantime, can you try to toggle on Always show all icons in the notification area option in Windows settings. Kindly follow these steps:

    1. On your keyboard, press Windows + I.
    2. Choose Personalization.
    3. Click Taskbar.
    4. Under Notification area, press Select which icons will appear on the taskbar.
    5. Toggle on Always show all icons in the notification area.

After performing the steps above, check if issue persists.

    Keep us posted.

  3. OneDrive folder icon changed to plain

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

I understand your concern and suggest you to Unlink OneDrive and run OneDrive setup
again and check. Here is the steps:

    • Right-click the white OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.

(You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the
      OneDrive icon.)

    • Click Settings, and then click Unlink.

    • Follow the steps in the Welcome to OneDrive wizard to set up OneDrive.
Do notify us if the issue still persists and we'll be glad to help.

Taskbar left click and right click not working

    Hi Regors,

    Thanks for the update.

Please reply to a few questions asked below to understand the issue better:

    • Do you get context menu on right clicking on the icons located on the task bar?

    • Are you unable to use the left click mouse option only on the taskbar icons?

    • What is the primary mouse button set at Mouse settings?

You might have changed the primary mouse button settings from the
    Mouse
settings page on Windows. To check the primary mouse button set on the PC, follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type
Mouse & touchpad settings and select the top most search result.

    • From the left side panel of the window, check if
      Select your primary button
      under Mouse is set to
      Left
. If not, select Left from the dropdown bar.

    • Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

If the issue persists, write to us with the answers to the above questions and the status of the issue for further assistance.

    Thank you.
