Windows 10: Windows 10 update TRASHED my desktop computer

I attempted to update my desktop computer a week ago and it kept failing. I ended up on a blue screen and managed to uninstall the update and recover. I then ran AVG utilities to clean up my Registry, CheckDisk and Defrag. Backed up my documents to my laptop, I made a System Recovery thumb drive. Rebooted probably 30 times since the initial update problem. This morning, after all my careful preparations, I attempted to download and install that Windows 10 update again.


My computer is now completely TRASHED. It boots to X: as Administrator. It will not recognize or boot from C:, it will not recognize or boot from any of my USB ports, it returns me to a blue screen, choose my keyboard, will not uninstall recent updates, will not even wipe, reinstall and start from scratch.


F10 on startup does nothing. I attempted the 3 power off's on startup to get it into Recovery from a different direction, nothing --


My legal license for Win 10 is gone. My legal license for MS Office is gone. All my programs - gone. My computer - GONE.


All during a pandemic when I am out of work and cannot afford to spend money on new hardware or repurchase fresh licenses for Microsoft products.


I prepared for this update to cause trouble and it still managed to cause more destruction than I would have thought possible. I cannot adequately describe how much I hate Microsoft at this moment.

Windows 10 Updates Trash My Desktop

Windows 10 Updates often trash my Desktop Layout. Everything is still there but it is completely re-arranged. This is particularly annoying when I have allowed the desktop to accumulate too much crap but still
have all the important, frequently used stuff in discrete, easy to locate areas.

This should not happen but it does and is unlikely to stop or even be recognized as an issue. Is there any way to back up just the Desktop Layout including the positioning of the icons on the desktop and then
restore them? I would like to back up my "clean desktop" after I have done a house cleaning and be able to use it as restore point when Windows Update has trashed my desktop...

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
