Windows 10: How to stop/cancel a pending update [1909] restart

I believe some people have asked similar questions. But in my situation, I don't want to install the update [feature update to Win10 1909] due to some reasons.


The fact is that Windows has automatically downloaded the update [1909] in my computer and asked me to restart in order to get a newer windows version. But no!!! Some of my software didn't work with version 1909!!!


How could I cancel/delete this "Restart Required" notification. Also, there is always an "Update and restart" option in my when shutting down. I'm worried about mis-click this option in future or it suddenly restart outside of active hours.


So I'm seeking for help of deteling the whole related things and make my system back to normal.



I already tried a lot of methods online, none of them works.


BTW, I'm still using version 1803 .

Thanks - it did resolve the RETRY issue then it immediately install (it was intel driver) the driver. Said i successfully installed. I guess I'll see what happens.

I would like to restart my computer but an update is pending and the recent update was reported to have been cancelled by Microsoft while they fix the widely-reported bug that caused some users to lose files. How can I tell Windows to restart without doing this update? Both restart and shutdown options have been replaced with "restart and update" and "shutdown and update".
