Strange behaviour after applying the latest WIndows 10 Home update

Since upgrading in mid June, I have a couple of things that I cant seem to stop on startup.

The Chrome browser automatically starts ..

I keep getting a message that my hotmail account password is wrong, despite having re-entered it a number of times and having it confirmed as ok. At next reboot it tells me its wrong again. UPDATE: I deleted my hotmail account and I still get the message.

Theses aren't major problems.. but were obviously introduced by the last update. Anyone shed any light please?

    Details below.

    Windows 10 Home

    Version 2004 Installed on 12/6/20

    OS Build 19041.329

    Experience Feature Pack 120.2202.130.0

    :)

Cortana's Strange Behaviour After Creator's Edition Update

Interestingly, my Cortana also presents such a list, no numbers.

Try 'The first' 'The second' etc.

...which works well, until.... the list of available options extends beyond the box as here:

So this British English-sounding voice starts reading them 'Which Minitool do you wanna open...'

And reads the list...after which I see

Oh, come on Microsoft, this is as pathetic as your start menu, where I see

    - these shortcuts, each for a different program, being taken from the folders of 2,3,or 4 per program in my nested start menu.

Which is one of a number of reasons I choose to use Classic Shell start menu which actually works. Reliably.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/defer-upgrades-in-windows-10

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

    Cortana strange behaviours

    Hello Gabriel,

We need to do further investigation on your concern so that we can identify why Cortana is not working properly:

    • Have you recently made any change/updates prior to this issue?
    • Did you try to login to a different user account to check if it is the same?

In the meantime, you can try these steps to isolate the issue:

As an initial recommendation, we suggest that you perform the troubleshooting steps listed in this

    article

on how to troubleshoot Cortana issues

    Let us know the outcome.

    Regards.
