Windows 10: Xbox Game Bar clips are frozen (with audio in the background)

This doesn't happen 100% of the time but sometimes when I record a clip using Win + G and then click the "Record clip" button (alternatively, I've also used Win + Alt + G), I capture a clip that seems to be frozen, however the audio of the clip still plays in the background. This is extremely frustrating because I've lost so many good clips thanks to this stupid glitch.

• I've tried multiple video players, so it's not a video player issue
• I can't reinstall Game Bar bc it's baked into Windows

I haven't done much but I honestly am not sure what else to do at this point. I'm not very techy so any help/suggestions would be appreciated. If any specs/info of my PC are needed to help, please let me know and I'll provide the info. Here's a bit to start off:

• GIGABYTE GA-Z270X-Ultra Gaming LGA1151 Intel 2-Way SLI ATX DDR4 Motherboard
• Intel i7-7700
• EVGA CLC 120MM water cooler
• 16 GB, G.Skill TridentZ RGB ram
• 2TB Seagate SSHD for storage
• 500GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD
• EVGA GTX 1070

And just to throw it out there, I have searched online for anyone having this issue but can't seem to find ANY reports, despite trying multiple keyword searches.



Lastly, if by any chance this might help, below are 2 videos I've captured with Game Bar. One that works perfectly and one that's broken. The broken one is my 10 year old daughter getting a double kill to secure our Victory Royale in Fortnite after I was downed. Super bummed that the clip is borked.

Game bar only records audio

I have noticed recently when trying to record a game clip through the game bar, it is only recording the audio to the clip most the time.

Ive tried watching the clip through the xbox app and through media player, it just looks like a screenshot and the audio playing The background.

Please help!

 

Can someone help me disable Discord background audio while recording a clip on Xbox Game Bar?

I usually play Fortnite while in a call on Discord and I often like recording clips to look back and smile. My problem is the Game Bar records me + my friends voices. Is there a way to disable the background audio (Discord voices) while recording a clip?

Xbox Game Bar Capture Doesn't Record Mic Audio

I understand that you are facing issues while recording microphone audio using game bar while playing games.



I would suggest you to try troubleshooting Game Bar and see if that helps. Refer the article

In addition, you can also check if the Microphone for game bar is enabled under privacy settings.

1. Go to Settings (press Windows +
   I key together) > Privacy.
   
2. On the left hand pane scroll down and look for
   Microphone.
   
3. Toggle Allow apps to access Microphone
   to ON.
   
4. Under Choose which Microsoft Store app can access your Microphone toggle Xbox game bar to
   ON.
   
5. Restart the game bar.
