Windows 10: [HELP] Not able to record screen

Discus and support [HELP] Not able to record screen in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; I was trying to record video lectures provided by our school using windows game bar but all I am getting is black screen with audio in the recorded...     [HELP] Not able to record screen


    I was trying to record video lectures provided by our school using windows game bar but all I am getting is black screen with audio in the recorded file. Lectures are being played on some kind of extract media player which was also provided by school. Intent of recording is just for later revision and nothing else. I am currently using windows 10 with good enough graphics card and cpu.

    Can not record audio.

    Hi,

    We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

    • Type troubleshooting on the search box.
    • Click View all.
    • Select Recording Audio.
    • Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

    Let us know if you need further help.

    I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

    • Does this issue occur only with the games or all the programs?
    • Have you tried using the screen recorder for other programs?
    • Which type of game are you trying to record?


    I suggest you to use the screen recorder for other programs and check if the issue persist.

    And also check in safe mode whether you’re able to record or not.

    Hi,

    To resolve your concern about screen recorder, follow the steps below:

    • Click on the Windows logo found at the lower left hand corner of your desktop.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on System.
    • On the left hand side, click on Storage.
    • Click on This PC.
    • Scroll down, and click on Temporary files.
    • Click on Delete temporary files.
    • Restart your computer, and then try screen recorder again.

    Regarding the Windows shortcut for your screen recorder, follow the steps below:

    • Open your Xbox application.
    • On the left hand side, click on the Settings icon.
    • Click on the Game DVR tab.
    • Make sure Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR is
      On.

    Let us know how it goes.
