Windows 10: Windows Defender Help - Cannot Find App

Defender keeps finding this file which looks like malware from a quick Google search. Nothing happens if I click Remove or Quarantine.. I also cannot find the file at the specified path. MalwareBytes scan shows nothing, same with AdwCleaner. Any insight? New to Windows from Mac.

I would suggest you to open Windows defender and add exclusions and check if it helps. Follow the steps to add exclusions in windows Defender.

• 
  Type Windows defender settings in the search bar and press enter
  
• 
  Under Exclusions click on Add Exclusion

I already know how to do that, so I guess I should have included that. Doing that for each app would be a little bit of a hassle. Admittedly, I really do not use many apps unless they pique my interest. Anyhow, these same apps didn't incur the same warning
from Windows Defender in Windows 8.1 when Pokki was installed by default. It just seems odd now it does this with Windows 10.

 

Windows Defender Blocking Installations of Downloaded Apps

There's a possibility that the SmartScreen option is on that's why you're unable to install downloaded apps. Let's try to turn it off and see if it helps. See the steps below:

• Open Windows Defender Security Center from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
• Click on the App and browser control button on the left side of the window.
• Click on Off in the Check apps and files section.
