    New HP laptop too bright and colors washed out


    I just recently got my hands on a new HP 15 dw1xxx, and the display is too bright, and the colors are dull. I've spent hours doing research and did everything I could think of. I made sure my laptop and drivers are up to date, I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, I've adjusted the color calibration many times, and everything is still off. I compared my laptop to other peoples Windows devices with the same settings and theirs are fine.

    Is there anyone who has any suggestions?

    Display colors washed out

    Others have asked this question, but no one has answered it correctly. When viewing photos on my laptop they are washed out. The photos were originally taken on my phone and the colors are vivid and beautiful. There must be some way of adjusting how colors
    look on the display, similar to how you can adjust the brightness. I don't want to change the windows colors, I want to correct the way all colors appear on my screen. I have a HP15-bs070wm laptop.

    I wonder why nobody has suggested the OP to make a screenshot of display showing these "washed out colors"? Everything I have read in this thread suggests that the issue is not in Windows, but instead in display / monitor.

    My suggestion: next time you'll see these washed out colors, make a screenshot and post it here. If the screenshot shows us that colors are OK, then the issue is your monitor failing.
