Windows 10: Burning a WAV file to CD

I have been trying for hours to burn several WAV files that I copied to Widows media player but each time I get an error message saying Media Player can not open WAV files. Is there some way to change the type of file or to get Media player open it and burn it?

Burning Audio CD in Windows 10

First, thank you so much for all of those website suggestions.

Second, all I have are CD/RW discs. That's all I've ever used to burn cd's with. And before Windows 10, I've never had any problems with burning an audio cd with .wav files. The .wav files burned as .wav files, and played as .wav files on any cd player.
Or burning discs for backup or simply saving misc. files.

But now, the .wav files after burning are turned into .cda files, which won't play on any cd player, only pc.

So, do you have any suggestions of how to burn using CD/RW discs? I don't want to have to go and buy regular CD discs if I don't have to. The whole purpose of using CD/RW discs is so they can be rewritten, if wanted/needed.

How to burn a document to a cd in windows 10

I suggest you to follow below steps to burn cd and check if it helps.

• Insert CD/DVD.
• Open the CD/DVD drive in File explorer
  icon from the taskbar, copy and paste the required document to the
  CD/DVD drive.
• Click on Burn a Disc.
• Follow on the on screen instruction.

WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 12 IN WINDOWS 10 WILL NOT BURN AN AUDIO CD FROM SONGS IN THE WAV FORMAT

The exact error message was: "Windows Media Player cannot burn some of these files. To investigate the problem check the icon next to the files in the burn list"

Click "OK" then click on "Blank Disk (F". One or more songs in the burn list will have a red circle containing an X beside it along with a message "An Error Occurred".

I have only attempted to burn popular music files. From these, there is no particular specific music file that stands out as being the cause of the problem.

Before this particular issue, I prepared a burn list of 22 songs in wav format from a different artist and after 2 or 3 attempts, I was unsuccessful to burn a CD. I then reduced the burn list to 18 songs and after 2 attempts the burn was successful.

Next, is the second attempt to burn a music CD. I was successful after 2 attempts using music files in the wav format from another artist. The burn list contained 3 songs.

This leads to the third attempt to burn a music CD which so far has been unsuccessful and is the subject of this post.

The music files are again from a different artist.

I purchased this notebook new, approximately one month ago.
