  1. Debug.txt suddenly showed up on laptop

    Hi there!

This morning I opened up my computer and some of my files were missing. I checked the Recycle Bin but it was completed empty. And then I came across this notepad file called debug. It contains the following message

[0709/142345.178:ERROR:settings.cc401] Settings magic is not 1129342067

Any idea what happened to my PC?

    Thanks!

    :)

    Debug.txt suddenly on desktop

This Debug.txt file has always been associated to programs, application, or software. You would commonly see this after a program or an app crashes. Causes of these crashes could be damaged program files or incorrect registry keys saved on the computer.

We can say that this situation is just normal, given that it only happen once, and is not repetitive to a point that it hinders normal system functioning. Because when it does, it may also be associated with a malware, continuously messing up a certain program
or app, or even the entire system process itself.

There is a way you can scan the computer for any system file corruption, and restore it at the same time. We recommend that you follow the steps provided below:

    Method 1:

System file checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Run system file checker (SFC) and see if it helps. Please follow these steps:

    • Press Windows + X keys and click command prompt (admin).

    • Type the following command in command prompt and press Enter.

    sfc /scannow

If it does not help, use method 2.

    Method 2:

Run DISM tool and check the issue. Please follow these steps:

    • Press Windows + X keys and click command prompt (admin).

    • Type the following command in command prompt and press Enter.

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    • Did you experience any blue screen on your computer?

Yes, but not at this very moment I reported.

    • Have you tried replicating the issue (running the 3 programs again at the same time)?

Yes, but it did not happen again. BTW I'm using these three programs right now.

    • When you ran the 3 programs after your computer started to work again, did the even happened once more?

    No.

    • How many times did it happened already?

    Only once.

    • What other troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Based on my previous experience with W10 blue screen errors, which started all by turning the mouse and the keyboard off, I thought these devices drivers could be the culprits, so I tried to update their drivers with Windows Update, but there were no updates
    for them.

As I'm using this Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 and mouse kit, next I thought of uninstalling the Mouse and Keyboard Center software and did it. So far, so good.

I would like to know what is that "debug.txt" content related to:

[1107/162413.239:ERRORDebug.txt suddenly showed up on laptop :process_info.cc(632)] range at 0xca1b280c00000000, size 0x20f fully unreadable

[1107/162413.240:ERRORDebug.txt suddenly showed up on laptop :process_info.cc(632)] range at 0x0, size 0x20f fully unreadable

Is it about software, hardware or what?

I googled and found nothing, and if you now do it you'll get this very MS Answers post here as the only result.

    TIA again.

Debug.txt suddenly showed up on laptop

    debug.txt meaning?

I was running Google Chrome 73.0.3683.103 on my laptop (Lenovo) when all of a sudden it closes and a debug.txt appeared on my desktop. It shows this:

[0412/160453.539:ERRORDebug.txt suddenly showed up on laptop :process_info.cc(611)] range at 0x2671dfe000, size 0x2000 fully unreadable

[0412/160453.542:ERRORDebug.txt suddenly showed up on laptop :process_info.cc(611)] range at 0x266f1ef000, size 0x1788 fully unreadable

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling chrome, but each time I run it, chrome never opens. I also tried restarting my laptop, but it's still the same results.
