Windows 10: Games keep crashing even after full PC reset

Hello all


I am very very desparate. So the problem is:


I play games and then there are randomly two upcoming problems:


1. Option: The screen turns grey and I have to do an emergency Shutdown.

2. Option: The screen gets black but I can still hear the conversations and msuic running in the background. The only thing I can do is to press ctrl + alt + delete and log off. -> in both ways I cannot see an error-message ofc.


These fails occure on Steam, Origin and locally saved games. Even on Total War Warhammer 2 for which I had over 900 gameplay-hours without any problems.


I completely resetted my PC and reinstalled Windows. I let the system deleteing all datas from all storages so a complete reset.


I just installed Origin, Steam, Kaspersky and 3 games to test and the errors still occure! However the dx Diag can't find problems. I suspect the error in the hardware but I don't know where to start searching. All drivers have the latest updates and Windows aswell. The graphic card was diagnosed fine by windows a few weeks ago. EA support couldn't help me after 3 Days with many chatting hours.

I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

PC keeps Crashing even after Clean install

Even after a clean install I can run the game for 5 - 10 minuets then crash, sometimes red dots on screen sometimes even black, other times I have to hard reset after pc just freezes, currently am on a clean install and problem is still here.

Its not just this game, I get the same problem on others as well.

The BSOD I got after first crash was - Kmode exception not handled

What I have tried

-DDU method threw safe mode

-Driver current/using previous drivers

-BiOS update

-Updating Drivers to current, threw update as well as going into device manger and checking update on each one to makes sure (everything there...EVERYTHING)

-In check update threw windows 10 media creation kit

-Check PC temps speedfan

-MSi after burner overclocking - using fan of gpu/ under clocking graphics card

-Furmark GPU stress test/test - which came out good, then after test, I get a crash

-Running game in different compatibility modes windows 8 as well as 7

-Windows update

-Clean install

PC specs -

OS: Windows 10

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz

Motherboard: H61M-DGS

Memory: 8gb

Graphics Card: Gtx 650 ti 1gb
