  1. reinstall windows10

About 2 yrs ago, running under W7, I picked up a virus that prevented my desktop PC from booting. I decided to take a brute force approach to the situation, and simply kill the virus by reinstalling W7. So I went to Micro center Rockville MD and forked over about $100 for a W7 installation DVD.

The reinstall was simplicity itself. I just put the DVD in its drive, closed the DVD tray, and when asked for a license/product ID, typed in the vales printed on the DVD sleeve.

So about 3 months ago, when my PC refused to boot, I anticipated that reinstalling W10 would be similar to what I experienced with W7. Nothing of the sort happened. The on-line shops that sell W10 DVD's practice consumer fraud on a large scale, by misstating the contents of the DVDs and shipping a product that does not include the product ID/license. Does anybody know of a product that will allow the end-user me the reinstall W10 in a straightforward manner?

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond reinstall windows10 :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
