    This issue started to prompt me when I was in-game and wanted to record some clips. When started gamebar and this popup came up when I clicked the record button. Gamebar was working fine and recording was working too like 3/4 days ago and all of sudden yesterday I couldn't record. Tried everything mentioned in the thread below, ran troubleshooter on Microsoft Store that also didn't help, tried cleaning the temp files, checked for updates on store etc none worked. Is this windows bug or some registry key got corrupted?

    Xbox recorder keeps saying "Can't record right now. Try again later"

    Every time I try and record a video and It keeps saying "Cant record right now. Try again later" when I click record.

    Is there a way to fix this?

    To guide you in right direction we want to know:

    • Have you installed all the updates on your computer?

    Please follow the methods mentioned below:

    Method 1:

    I suggest that you reset the Windows Store cache as per the below mentioned steps and check:


    • Press Windows key and R key together
      to open the Run Window.
    • Type wsreset.exe and press Enter key for the command to execute.

    Method 2:

    You may try to run the in-built Windows Store app troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:


    • Press Windows Key + X.

    • Click on Control Panel.

    • Select Troubleshooting.

    • On the left pane, click on View All.
    Click on Windows Store apps to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 3:

    Please try creating a new user profile and check.

    Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

    1. Go to
    Settings.

    2. Choose
    Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.

    3. Go to
    Family & other users    .

    4. On the right side select
    other users. Follow the on screen instruction.
