Windows 10: When will Windows 2004 be rolled out to everyone?

it's July now. The Windows 2004 update is called April 2020. How many month do you usually have to wait until you receive the current version of Windows?


I know that with every new update by Microsoft there are bugs that cause compatibility issues with some hardware. In this case the affected system won't receive the update until severe problems are solved. Also, updates are rolled out slowely in the beginning to be able to react to feedback/problems before the update is already installed on all machines f.e. this helps to lower the risk of infecting a lot of machines at the same time with bugs. In addition, this ensure that the servers can handle the load from downloading the update.


That's all fine, but now months have passed and Microsoft still tells that the update is in a state of "initial availability" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004. Now, when half of the time is already over in which 2004 is the latest update, is it really still the beginning of the rollout? I wouldn't call half time of a soccer match "just the beginning of the game".


So my question is, in case I wait another 3 months, or 6 months, will I ever receive the update? Or do a lot of people simple not receive current updates at all? Most of them probably don't know/don't care and the people who do care won't wait but simply update manually by downloading the new version of windows on an installation drive. But as Microsoft tells us, it seems there is a reason for not receiving an update instantly. So I want to wait for the new update until my device is properly supported. I'm just wondering whether this will ever be the case...


I'm running a modern HP EliteBook with Windows 1909. This is not some outdated device that makes up the tiniest fraction of all devices running Windows 10. And still Microsoft is not even able to provide a modern device with the current version of Windows 10?


It won't be long until 6 months are over and there will be the next version of Windows 10. Maybe it will be possible to receive the 20H2 version then. But does this mean, many users do not even receive updates on a regular basis, but only maybe once a year?

Change of message on Windows Update as regards 2004

I would suggest reading the list of Known Issues.

I was able to force install it in early June, and I tested it for a couple days before rolling back to 1909.

Microsoft apparently has now decided to block force installs.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
