Windows 10: Xbox 360 Driver doesn't install correctly

Hello,

I'm trying to use a gamepad Logitech F710 with my Windows System Windows 10 Pro Version 2004, this gamepad has already worked on windows 10 and windows 7.

Normally I just have to manually install the Xbox 360 drivers and the gamepad should work, this worked before. But now that I have tried it, Windows no longer installs the driver correctly, it gives me the confirmation that it has been installed, but in the device list it is still under Other Devices and the Xbox 360 gamepad driver is not installed.

I have also tried the newer Xbox 360 drivers and restarted the Computer, with no success.

Xbox 360 for Windows does not work

Hi,

To address your concern, we suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the Xbox 360 controller driver. To do that, follow these steps:

• Go to the Device Manager.
• In Device Manager locate Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
  and right click it.
• Choose Uninstall.
  
• After the driver has been uninstalled, restart your computer. When your computer restarts, Windows 10 will automatically install the missing driver.

Can't reinstall xbox 360 controller driver

If you have this driver installed it should show at the bottom of Device Manager (Hidden... Why ?)

as XBOX 360 Peripherals and be listed in Programs and Features under Microsoft XBOX 360 accessories.

Xbox 360 Controller for Windows | Microsoft Hardware

If it is listed in Programs and Features try uninstalling. Reboot and reinstall.

Drivers for Xbox 360 controllers for window 10

XBOX 360 type (what brand), or genuine MS XBOX 360 ? I would have thought the wired MS controller would be plug and play,

but maybe it needs the same trick as 3rd party XBOX controllers, which are....

Reboot.

Open Device Manager (R/click on the Start button) and you should find
XBOX 360 Peripherals > XBOX 360 Controller for Windows

at the bottom of the list.

R/click on XBOX 360 Controller for Windows and select Update driver

Select the Browser My Computer option.

Then click on the Let me pick... option.

Select a driver from the list that pops up (or more if you have more than one with the same date) and click install.

Reboot...

(Optional... Cross fingers and do a jig)
