On MacOS, the OS itself doesn't have any windows management tools, but I use something called Rectangle (open source!) that works really well.

On MAC : Because my side monitors are vertical, I open snap my windows to this configuration where it covers form top to middle (using command+up) :https://i.imgur.com/HGiRvUL.png

On WINDOWS : using Windows+Up on my keyboard snaps the window to full screen. I tried to find ways so that it can snap 50% (from the top or bottom) and couldn't find info and the best it can do is this : https://i.imgur.com/Ppyncs6.png. Googled a bunch of websites that is mostly spam/filled with ads and I'm struggling to just find info.

From the official site, it seems like there's no options to snap 50% from the bottom/top.

What options do I have to be able to snap my windows like this? : https://i.imgur.com/HGiRvUL.png. It seems like a minor issue that one can do manually with a mouse, but it can be very aggravating when trying to do this and it clicks another window below it. I do a lot of dev work and have lots of documentation spread out and being able to snap assist and switch contexts fast is essential without moving to using the mouse.

Snap

Thanks for the response. I have a Surface Book with 16 GB RAM. I am referring to the feature called "Snap" that allow you to place multiple active windows side-by-side on one screen. This feature is so you can access (multi-task) more than one program
at a time.

 

Snap Assist

Hi Cory,

The Snap Assist allows you to juggle apps, arrange open windows, resize windows by simply dragging and dropping them to the edges of the screen. If you don't want to get a quarter screen snap, you can change the settings of Snap Assist by follow the steps below:

• Open the Settings app
• Click System.
• Click Multitasking.
• You can turn off some of the option of Snap Assist on this window.

If you want to disable Snap Assist, you can turn off Arrange windows automatically by dragging them to the sides or corners of the screen.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
