  1. Can't close fullscreen application by any means

    So for some stupid reason, some applications either ignore Alt + F4 OR they try to close and get stuck. This defeats the entire purpose of the shortcut so Microsoft you need to fix this because its useless.

    I cannot Alt + Tab either because it won't actually switch the windows when you do it. Again, useless.

    So I tried Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open task manager and close it that way. But AGAIN, its USELESS because it hides BEHIND THE WINDOW I'M TRYING TO FREAKING CLOSE.

    So I tried Ctrl+Shift+Escape. Same problem.

    I tried creating a new desktop with Win+Ctrl+D and it does NOTHING!

    I tried Ctrl+Alt+F4 and IT STILL WON'T WORK!

    The only way to get out is to Ctrl+Alt+Del and sign out which I don't want to do because it has to start up all my applications again when I sign back in.

    So answer me this, WHY would this be allowed. Alt+F4 is supposed to close anything. Period. What were you guys thinking allowing it to be ignored?

    And before you start giving me troubleshooting steps, know this: It is NOT my PC. It is a consistent issue I have had on ALL Windows 10 machines.

    This is an issue that needs to be addressed! It's absolutely asinine.

    So to recap so I don't have to repeat myself

    Ctrl+Alt+Del for task manager -> DOESN'T WORK

    Alt+F4 -> DOESN'T WORK

    Ctrl+Alt+F4 -> DOESN'T WORK

    Ctrl+Shift+Esc -> DOESN'T WORK

    Win+Ctrl+D -> DOESN'T WORK

    Alt+Tab -> DOESN'T WORK

    You guys need to fix this bulls**t

    :)

    Is there anyway to open fullscreen windows by default?

    Right click the application shortcut, select Properties. Select the Shortcut tab and choose how you want to open the application:

    Can't close fullscreen application by any means [IMG]

    • Normal window = Opens the application window in same size it was when last time closed, full screen only if the application was last closed when full screen
    • Minimized = Opens the application but minimizes it to taskbar without showing the application window on desktop
    • Maximized = Opens the application window always maximized, regardless if it was windowed or full screen when last time closed

  3. Can't launch any applications

    Hi,

    This error message will show if the application or program that you are trying to open was been blocked by Windows Defender SmartScreen. Having said that, we suggest that you disable Windows Defender SmartScreen by following these steps:

    • Click on Start.
    • Type Windows Defender Security Center.
    • Click on App & browser control.
    • Click on Off in the following options:
      • Check apps and files.
      • SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge.
      • SmartScreen for Windows Store apps.
    • SmartScreen is now completely disabled. If you'd like to still receive a warning when a potentially malicious file or program is detected, you can choose Warn in each SmartScreen option.

    Let us know if the steps above helped you to resolve the issue.

    Kari - Do you have to do that for every shortcut? I did it and most of my windows still aren't opening as Maximized... *Sad
