  1. Using Windows 10 tools to modify Linux subsystem files

I am trying to set up a development environment inside of Windows, so I won't have to dual boot with Windows and Ubuntu. My logic was that I can use the Ubuntu subsystem within Windows to keep my project files, but use applications available in Windows to modify these files (VS Code, pdf editors, image processors, etc.) However I read that "Microsoft strongly warns against adding or modifying Linux files with Windows software. This could cause metadata problems or file corruption, and may force you to uninstall and reinstall your Linux distribution to fix it."

Is this still the case? And why?

    Hi,

I understand that you have downloaded Linux Terminal from Microsoft Store and you are getting an error when running the PowerShell command. However, as per the article

you need to run the PowerShell command first and then install the required Linux distribution from the store. I suggest you to try running the PowerShell command
