connecting to my Imac thru LAN

On my home network I have my Windows 10 laptop and my Imac desktop computers. I have no problem accessing my Windows laptop from my Mac. But for some reason, my Windows 10 laptop refuses to allow me to access files on my Imac. I have used the correct password each time, but it tells me NO. I can even see the Imac in the network list. What am I doing wrong??

    :)

My desktop can't connect thru LAN, but in my laptop it can

Hi, I'm having an issue. So my desktop suddenly wasn't connecting to the internet through LAN. I tried several methods to reconnect thru LAN, however, it was all in vain, and I ended up using my Wifi dongle to connect. However, I tried the LAN on my laptop,
but it works. Why does this happen?

    Good LAN party games?

Most of my suggestions have already been listed.

However, I found Swat4 to actually be a pretty fun LAN game, especially at smaller LAN parties.

My desktop can't connect thru LAN, but in my laptop it can

Hi krshkylx, thanks for your question. I'm Graeme, a Microsoft Community expert and fellow user.

There could be a few reasons why your desktop isn't connecting to your LAN, but usually it's a driver issue. I'll give you the steps to update or reinstall your network drivers:

    - Press Windows Key+X and choose Device Manager.

    - Find your LAN ethernet device in the list.

    - Right-click it and choose Update Driver.

    - If that doesn't work, try uninstalling it and then scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.

Otherwise, you could see if the troubleshooter can help. Click Start and type Troubleshoot, then choose Troubleshoot from the list. Choose Internet Connection in the settings window, and run the troubleshooter. This might help too.

Please let me know how you go and I'll provide further options if you need them! Thanks!
