  2. Windows 10 BSOD - Help with diagnosing cause of crashes via minidumps

    Hi,

I'm trying to diagnose Windows 10 BSODs that I encounter typically 3 to 4 times on a daily basis. This is for a work computer and it seems to BSOD during the course of normal daily activities (e.g. using Outlook for emails, browsing files in Windows Explorer
or OneDrive, web access via Edge, Word / Excel etc.), however strangely enough it never BSODs whilst playing games (machine has an nVidia RTX2060 and can run pretty much anything without issue). I've uploaded a zip containing 4 recent minidumps and a MSInfo32
file at the link below for analysis:

    BSOD_analysis.zip

Having tried to analyse the minidumps myself via BlueScreenView (the uploaded ones as well as previous ones), the most common culprits are consistently identified as being ntoskrnl.exe, hal.dll. However, from reading around I understand these to not be the
real issue and the most typical cause tends to be third-party driver files. Can anyone please help advise what is causing the machine to crash and how to remedy?

    Many thanks!

    Help diagnosing frequent BSOD

I've been getting a lot of system crashes lately, BSOD I guess though I never actually see the BSOD. I'll typically be playing a game or something, and the screen suddenly goes black as if I pulled the video cord. Audio cuts out and the computer is completely
unresponsive. I usually hard reboot, which I think might be the reason there aren't that many entries in my Windows Minidump. That only seems to show up if I wait 10+ mins for the system to reboot. My hunch is that I have a faulty video card, an NVIDIA GTX
970 that I bought a little over a year ago, because I was getting these crashes before and after a recent motherboard+CPU+RAM upgrade. Seems that it has to be either the video card or my hard drives.

    How do I diagnose this?

Here's a share folder with a zip of my minidump files and my MSInfo saved file.

Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.

    Win 10 Home

    GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 mITX motherboard

    i5 6500

    MSI GTX 970 Twinfrozr

    16 GB DDR4 2133 Corsair Vengeance RAM

    Thanks!

Flickering screen at startup, crashes, and BSOD after instaling new GPU

Here are some that are close to the BSOD crash time but i dont think they have to do anything with the BSOD.
