Windows 10: Updated with Media Creation Tool now locked out of computer

My computer was stuck on the 1903 update making disc usage 100% so I took the suggestion to update manually using the media creation tool. Now my computer boots up to an older version login screen, and when prompted I enter the password which is always incorrect according to my PC. I'm definitely using the correct microsoft password. Why oh why. . .can't microsoft just create upgrades that just install and do what they are designed to do? Why do we need tech degrees to figure it out?? Anyone have any clue how i can get past the login screen?? Oh and I can't reboot into safe mode. Shift+restart takes me to the Dell logo with the blue status bar under it, with F12 and F2 options on the bottom right hand corner.
