Windows 10 Sound bug/problem - Headphones vs Speakers.

I have a really annoying bug that every time my PC goes in to screensaver or standby mode the sound which has been playing out of the monitor speakers becomes stuck in the headphones. Normally different apps are defaulted to different speaker outputs with different volumes, but after sleep mode everything is played through the headphones at the same volume.

The only way to get out of this is to go to Sound > Output Troubleshoot and then select a monitor speaker where is then says either the monitor isn't connected (it is) or there is no problem. It then waits for a couple of minutes while it minimises various windows and basically slows the whole PC down and then sets up again exactly is it should be. This used to be annoying but now working from home this is 10 times a day and a real pain.

I am running a windows 10 PC 64 bit on an Intel(R) Core i7-6700K 4Ghz PC with 16GB of RAM.

I have 4 x Dell U3415 monitors with integral speakers.

Any help would be great as I have searched everywhere to try and solve this for months.

    Thanks

  2. Windows 10 headphones and speakers bug

    I have a Dell G7 laptop. Here's the problem:

    1. I plug in my headphones/earphones to the headphone jack. Works just fine.
    2. I keep the headphones plugged in, and then turn off my PC.
    3. I then unplug the headphones, and turn the PC on again.
    4. The computer thinks the headphones are still plugged in and the speakers don't work.
I have to plug and unplug the headphones again while the PC is on, for the speakers to work. Is this a bug? How do I fix this?
