Windows 10: For best speed, which computer should use an ethernet connection?

We have three computers connected to the Internet. Two are connected wirelessly to the modem/router and the third is connected via the ethernet cable; all three computers are on Win 10 Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.959) . The one with the cable connection has an onboard ethernet adapter, 10/100, while the other two have 10/100/1000 adapters. The Internet (download) speed from the provider is supposed to be as high as 1000 Mbps, but all three computers are getting only around 30-35 Mbps. Would it make a difference if I connected one of the computers with the higher speed adapter to the modem/router? If so, is this just a matter of switching the cable to that computer? Could I then easily change the "slow" computer to connect wirelessly? OTOH, would the "slow" computer drag down the Internet speed no matter what the connection?

• I would suggest you to test the speed using any of the speed test website or app to confirm the upload and download speed.
• I also suggest you to reset the wireless router to check if that helps.

Ethernet Light Orange/ "Local Area Network" Not in Network List

Last night I noticed my ethernet light on the back of my computer was orange. I did some research to find the reason. Some websites said it was an increased connection speed. Others said a problem with the connection.
The local area network is no longer in the list of network connections and the other computer in my house has a green light on the ethernet port.
I've used all the cmd.exe ipconfig steps suggested by websites. Flush dns, reset dns, etc. I've also used the network troubleshooter in windows10 which told me a problem was not found.
Nothing seems to change the light back to green. Can someone help me find the problem so I can fix it?
