Windows 10: Can you use unactivated Windows 10 for as long as you want ?

Hi ! I heard that you can install Windows 10 from Microsoft's site , and use it and not activate it , but you will not get some personalized function and customizations . Is it true ? I want to hear personal experience from someone that uses or used it unactivated or knows about it . Does it work slower than activated one ?

Can you get Windows 10 on an unactivated W8?

Hello everyone, wanted to ask a pretty simple question.

Recently a friend and I built a pc for myself, and he said he had a Windows 8 CD For me to install when I get the Hard Drive going. I didn't really think about it being activated or not, seeing as i'd never used Windows 8 before, and forgot about the free
W10 Upgrade going on right now. I'm currently updating my Windows 8, and it's not activated because he'd already used the key on it a few weeks earlier because he builds PCs for his family and friends.

No, I DID NOT Torrent Windows 8. I just wanted to know if it's possible to still reserve Windows 10 on an unactivated copy of Windows 8.
