    KB4559309 IN INSTALL LOOP


    Three weeks ago, MS installed KB4559309. It was an epic failure. After it was installed my music files were moved to different folders. I eventually moved them from c:\users\btbra to \This PC\music. Then I was no longer able to view images using Windows Live Photo error message referenced a missing MS SQL 2005 Compact Edition. I installed the missing software and still receive the same error. Finally, my default browser was changed from FireFox to Edge with all my FireFox browser settings deleted. I turned off updates until I recovered. Then a week later, all my music files were deleted; recent work was deleted; and Edge was re-installed as my default browser, deleting all my reset FireFox settings. The only way to view images is with FireFox because Live Photo is still broken. I restored my files from backup. Then a week ago, Edge was again re-installed and deleted all my FireFox settings that I had reset and a few thousand music files. I'm in the processes of restoring those files. Today, the same stuff happened again

    It appears that KB4559309 is in a repeating loop. I need it uninstalled or configured to not delete my files.

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    • Have you checked if the hard disk is set as first boot device in the BIOS?
    • Which version of Windows is installed on the computer?
    • What did the HP supported suggested you to fix the issue?
