    Screen brightness jumps to 100% directly after lowering it manually.


    No matter what I try, the screen brightness returns to maximum after changing it with the F-key or with the menu.

    The status of the toggle below.

    It seems like some background process is putting this setting back to max.

    Any ideas what might be wrong?

    Hi,

    Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

    To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

    • Click Start, then select Settings.
    • Choose System, then select Display.
    • Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

    How to lower Screen brightness?

    I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Navigate to Start>Settings>System>Display.
    • In the right pane, click on Advanced Display Settings.
    • Click on Color Calibration under Related Settings.
    • Provide password (if any) for the UAC prompt and click on OK.
    • Click on next and follow the on screen prompts to adjust the brightness and contrast.

    Screen Brightness Stuck at 100% After Recent Creators Update May 2018

    After a recent windows 10 Creators Update my screen brightness is stuck at 100%.

    I see others with a dimming issue. My Dell Inspiron will not allow me to lower the brightness. I tried updating the drivers for the Display Adapter.
