  1. Unwanted microphone sounds when using USB sound input

I plugged in a USB turntable but the only input where I get sound is the MICROPHONE input. I changed it's input to 24bit Stereo and clicked LISTEN, so I can now hear the sound.

Unfortunately the internal microphone is still on so I'm getting lots of echo.

I've turned off microphone to all the apps but the microphone is still on.

How can I turn off the microphone and keep the USB sound working?

    Thanks

    :)

  2. No sound input devices working

Since the last major update I have been unable to use any sound input devices. This includes the mic input on the sound card (2 mics tested), a Jabra conference device (usb) and a usb webcam with microphone. I have re-installed the sound card driver.
The sound device manager shows all the devices and says that they are all working properly. When any loopback testing is done on any sound input device no sound is heard. Skype and Discord see the sound input devices (all of them) but no sound is heard if
    any one is selected.

It looks like there is a setting somewhere that is disabling all recording devices.

Is anyone able to point me in the right direction to fix this issue please?

    Thank you.

Microphone still unable to pick up sound from Dragon Speech

Not a techie at all sorry but follow your general drift which is interesting. I've now got a mike input (USB Pro Sound) but how do you make the connection to the headphone output as there's two separate wires ?

Unwanted microphone sounds when using USB sound input

Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

    Step by step fix:
    • I went into recording devices
    • I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
    • Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
    • Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't
Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?
