Windows 10: Microphone Connection Problem

I bought a new set of headphones recently, and tried to connect to a meeting. However, my PC did not connect to the external microphone. when i changed the default microphone to the external microphone, it said that the microphone was not working, and i should change my microphone. But when i tried the microphone with another laptop, the microphone was working perfectly.

Why is this happening? And how can i fix the problem so that i can use the external microphone on my system?

• What is the make and model of your microphone?
• What is the specs of your microphone?

Problem with Microphone

You might check Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone

Check that you have access set to 'On' and there's also a list of Windows apps that can be toggled individually.

Here are the possible reasons why you're getting an error "The microphone did not pick anything up" when using it:

• Incorrect settings (microphone is not set as default device)
  
• Corrupted or outdated driver
  
• Faulty device
  

For us to isolate the issue, we'd like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue(e.g. Windows updates)?
  
• Have you tried connecting other microphone to your computer?
  
• Have you tried connecting the microphone to the other computer?
