Display settings have changed since last windows update

My work PC had a windows update to download on friday, and it ran the update on shutdown. I use two identical monitors for working with my PC, but this morning,Monday, the right hand monitor is smeary, I had checked the display settings, and have found that if I set both monitors to the same resolution, the right hand screen gets narrower, with black sections top and bottom, to get the screens the same size I now have to set differing settings, but now when I have a window open across the screens, I lose the top of the window on the left hand screen, what could have caused this, the cables connecting are DVI lhs, VGA RHS, it all worked fine on friday. I do not have authority to make major changes and our IT guy is useless.

    :)

Windows 8.1 update changed the language, can't change back

Maybe, these will help... it seems it is a common enough problem.

Language packs are no longer available after you upgrade to Windows 8.1

And, sort of the same here --> Add a language or keyboard

Quote from above MS web page:

Spoiler Download and install language packs
You'll need to download the language pack if you want to make a language your Windows display language (that's the language you see most often in Windows and apps).
    • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
    • Tap or click Time and language, and then tap or click Region and language.
    • Tap or click a language that says Language pack available underneath, and then tap or click Options.
    • Tap or click Download. The download process might take a while, depending on your PC and the size of the language pack.
If you want to make this your display language, see the next section "Change your Windows display language".
    Change your Windows display language
To change your Windows display language (that's the language you see most often in Windows and apps), first add a language, download and install the language pack, and then follow these steps.
    • Tap or click the language that you want to set as your display language.
    • Tap or click Set as primary to move the language to the top of the list. If the language can become your Windows display language, you'll see Will be display language after next sign-in appear under the language.
    • Sign out and then sign back in to finish.
And here is some more info --> Add Language Packs to Windows

Display settings have changed since last windows update

Windows + P (Change Display settings) resetting everytime i click on something.

    Hi Daunsie,

Thank you for posting your concern on Microsoft Community Forums.

To get clarity of this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, kindly reply with the answers to the questions below.

    1. Were there any changes made to the operating system recently?
    2. What is the make and model of the system?
    3. What is the Graphic Card that you have installed on your PC?
    4. Since when are you facing this issue?

    Method 1: Check for updates.

I would suggest you to check if you have installed all the updates on the computer. There are chances that you might get HDMI drivers through update:

Open the Settings page > Go to
Update and Security> Click on Check for Updates. Once the updates are installed, restart the pc and check for the issue.

    Method 2: Update Display drivers.

I suggest you to update the display drivers, follow this article to

    Update drivers in Windows 10
, and also refer this article

View display settings in Windows 10
, I also suggest you to check the HDMI Switcher, if that is working fine.

    We await your response.

    Regards,
