  1. Clear out Web Credentials in bulk

So, if you open the Windows Credentials manager, there are two sections: Web Credentials and Windows Credentials.

There are some good resources online about how to use CmdKey.exe to remove all remembered Windows Credentials at once (or I believe by just deleting the files located under %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Credentials).

But is there any way to quickly remove/forget all the remembered "Web Credentials"? It looks like some of these are incredibly old (passwords for things I haven't used since Windows Phone like Here Maps for example). I don't want to spend hours on end clicking each one and choosing "remove", "yes I'm sure", and repeating until the sun rises tomorrow.

Since it was "web credentials", I thought I'd try going into inetcpl.cpl and clearing all remembered passwords, but that didn't do it.

  2. manage web credentials

    Hi Rose,

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

To assist you better, I like to know; when you say program is gone from the list,
are you referring to Web credential program or credentials?

As per your query, I like to inform you that; when you select Remove under the specific credentials, it will remove the specific credential details. Since you have followed the correct steps to remove web credentials but the program is not available,
I suggest you to Run DISM commands and check if the Web credentials programs works.

Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) is a new command line tool that you can use to service a Windows image or prepare a Windows PE image. The DISM tool replaces the Package Manager (pkgmgr.exe), PEimg, and Intlcfg tools.
DISM consolidates the functionality found in those three tools, as well as delivers new functionality to improve the experience of offline servicing.

Follow the steps to Run DISM Commands:

    1) Press Windows + x on your keyboard.

    2) Select Command prompt (Admin) to open Administrator Command Prompt .

    3) In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press the Enter key after each command:

    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Reply to us with the status of your issue. We will be happy to assist you.

    Web Credentials cannot be accessed

    Hi Hermie,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    1) When do you get this error? While accessing any file or while using Internet?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    1) Press Windows key + r and type services.msc.

    2) Right click Credential manager and Go to Properties.

    3) Select Manual from the Startup type drop down menu.

    4) Click Apply and OK.

    5) Restart your computer and check the issue.

If the issue still persists, I suggest you to delete the web credentials and then try to add it again and check.

In the Credential Manager, under Web Credentials remove the web credentials and check.

Please reply to us with the status of the issue.

    Thanks.
