    Go straight to Desktop after Display turns off


    I've had a search but can't find what I'm after.

    I have my laptop set to turn off the screen after 10 mins.

    I don't have a Microsoft account which I have to sign into on each start.

    On my previous 8.1 laptop after the screen had turned off, I could move my mouse and it would show the desktop but now it shows a login screen with my name (even though I don't have a password to enter).

    I have a Windows Bluetooth mouse (used to have wired) which I know goes to sleep when not in use, so I know my mouse has to wake up first, so there will be a slight delay compared to when I used a wired mouse.

    I just want to move/click my mouse and it will show the desktop and not the sign in screen which I have to click to get to the desktop.

    Hi Yvonne,

    To resolve your issue with flickering desktop, we suggest that you update your display drivers with the steps listed below:

    • Right-click Start, then select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters to find the name of your device.
    • Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow steps to update display drivers.

    Update us on the result.

    Triple display. How to quickly turn off two and leave primary active?

    Hi all, so I've got three monitors and I'd like to be able to turn off/on two of them with some kind of script because I see no easy way within the display properties.

    I see the following options:

    Duplicate desktop on 1 and 3
    Duplicate desktop on 2 and 3
    Extend desktop to this display

    My primary monitor is the one listed as #3 which is actually in the middle.
    Any way to have something like "show only on 3" ?

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Display does not turn off when pc is idle

    Just did all the suggestions. Did not work. Display does not turn off.

    This issue was from the beginning when I downloaded Win 10. I had Win 8.1 and the display always turned off as I set it.

    My pc is HP Pavilion Touchsmart 23 all-in-one. According to "checking for updated drivers on display and monitors", I always get the response that the drivers currently installed are the correct ones.
