    Windows 10 Student Version for Mac


    Hello all - I teach GIS at a community college and they do not offer free Windows 10 through the Microsoft "onthehub" website. We need Windows 10 for students that are setting up a dual boot environment on their Mac computers and do not have Windows. They are running software that must run on Windows.

    Now, to be clear, this is not an upgrade, but a full version of Windows 10 to be installed on a Mac. The only pricing I found was at least $139 on the Microsoft website for the Home edition and $199 for the Pro edition. Do my students have any other options for getting Windows at a much reduced price? I am so surprised that with COVID discounts there is nothing else out there. Any help would be appreciated.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
