Windows 10: File Explorer crashes when clicking on "File" tab (and only in that situation)

Hi,

As the title said, for a few weeks now my File Explorer is crashing whenever I click/go to the "File" tab.

Which means it also crashes when I do a CTRL+E.

The only way for me to open a File Explorer window is to download a file using Chrome, then right click and "open location" (or something), which opens File Explorer with the "Home" tab active instead of the "File" tab (when you do a CTRL+E).

I already tried all the obvious workarounds (clearing cache, removing Bags keys in Regedit, etc.) but to no avail.

A search on Google did not seem to yield any relevant results.

The Windows Event Manager logs the crash event, but with no useful information (kernelbase.dll -- that's it).

Does anyone has a solution for this? I have been trying other File Explorers but they are not very handy, and my computer is my work tool, I need it to be at its best.

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

thats wierd... iv never had a large file crash explorer before....


and i have files ranging upto 80GB...
