Windows 10: Windows Defender Missing after Windows 10 OS update version 2004

Hi!

Recently, I updated my windows to the latest version. After 10-12 days of normal usage of the computer, when everything was running ok, I executed disk cleanup and removed the previous version. But now 3-4 days back, I discovered that the Windows Defender icon is not showing in Taskbar. I tried to start it from Control Panel - Update & Security. But got an empty console screen shot attached. In services console, I found Defender Firewall running but no Defender Antivirus service.


In registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows Defender \Real - time Protection : value to all the available keys DisableBehaviourMonitoring, DisableOnAccessProtection, DisableScanOnRealTimeEnable set to 1. I have tried to reset to 0, but didn't helped.


I have searched the net for any clues and solution but nothing solved my issue. I have no other Antivirus protection in the system in the past or present, which might have disabled Windows defender in my knowledge.


I tried DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow . After first run, it informed that some corrupt files but which have been taken care of. When I re-ran sfc /scannow, its showing no problem.


What should I do? Please help.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update Issues

Problems with W10 Anniv auto update:

Mom's: (x58 Xeon 5677) Windows Defender was not turned back on automatically (it was "on" in the 1511 edition) and she had a Trojan. Full system scan to eradicate.
Her Epson printer was knocked off, had to uninstall by Device Manager pull USB cable and reconnect cable. W10 did the rest.

Step-mom's: (HP pre built) Windows Defender not turned back on by default. Her USB Seagate Expansion Drive 2Tb was offline so all backup routines were halted. Had to rerun backup plan. Had her do a full virus scan.

Step-dad's: (Dell Optiplex tweaked upgrades) Windows Defender not turned back on by default. Full Scan.
