    Windows 10 System Protection settings.

After major updates the above is normally switched off by the updates.

I habitually reactivate it for my 2 drives...C is programmes and D is storage.

This time the update to version 2004 throws up a warning :-

Should I heed this warning and switch protection off for the 'D' drive?

    Thank you.

    :)

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 10 System Protection settings.

System protection setting from On to Off.

    Hi Frank,

You can perform a System Restore regardless if the System Protection setting is turned On or Off. The reason why System Protection needs to be turned On is to generate a restore point automatically when you install a new app, driver, or Windows update. For
us to better assist you with this, we'd like to ask for the exact error message when you try running performing a System Restore?

Please follow the steps below to turn On/Off System Protection:

    • Press Windows key + R to open Run dialog.
    • Type Control Panel, then hit Enter.
    • Set View by: Small icons, then select System.
    • In the left pane, click System protection.
    • Under System Protection tab, you will see Local Disk (CWindows 10 System Protection settings. :) (System) is
      On.
    • Click Local Disk (CWindows 10 System Protection settings. :) (System) to highlight it, then click
      Configure
      .
    • Under Restore Settings, you will see the option to turn On/Off
      System Protection.
    • Click Apply.
    • Click OK.
Note: Under Disk Space Usage, you may adjust the maximum disk space for system protection.

We're looking forward to your reply.
